On 19th of March 2019, Wathiqat Wattan holds a workshop in oral history to a group of researchers who joined the organization to document many themes in relation to the project: War on Syria.

The manager of the projects at Wathiqat Wattan, Mousa Alkoury, explained the general framework of oral history, the basic concept of this science, the interviews’ work cycle after being conducted and how the testimonies are documented and preserved in the organization’s database.

The director of the subproject “Women in Wartime”, Dr. Nermeen Al Nafra, stressed the significance of an oral history interview as a scientific research method in answering the research questions and connecting between the narrator and the audience, since the interviewer “represents the audience.”

The training course will last till next week, where the researcher Najwa Al Haffar explains the way to manage an oral history interview and the researcher Mouhammad Al Issa clarifies the necessary equipments to conduct such interviews.
